Unlimited spring rolls and greasy Chinese food are the standouts at the buffet. Vegetarian House is a great place to consume mass amounts of cheap vegetarian/ vegan food for a decent price. The location is central but is located next to a restaurant that has rabbit carcasses in hanging in the window. The food quality isn't the best but the quantity makes up for that. Also "supreme master television" is entertaining/ creepy.
Love, love, love this place. I was shocked at the HUGE menu. It was the first time ever that I could eat everything on the menu. I usually go out to eat and only have one or two choices. It was hard to decided. I chose the sweet and soar chicken, my daughter ordered the sesame chicken and her friend ordered the chow mien. The food was amazing. The vegetables were very fresh. The server never let our drinks go below half a glass. I plan on eating here every time I come to Portland. Would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone even my non vegan friends. The Vegetarian House is my new favorite place to eat.
This is a generic-looking Chinese restaurant with a large menu of mockmeat dishes. I came for the lunch buffet ($8). I really enjoyed the kung pao chicken and the cauliflower chicken. My only gripe is that the dishes weren't varied enough; maybe an additional couple of veggie stir-fry dishes would have been nice (instead of the plain lo mein and the heavy tempura broccoli).
For the price, though, an all you can buffet is nice and for a vegan, it's a rare treat
